mapping south asia mapping south asia is a digital art history project initiated by Professor Sugata Ray to develop research tools that will allow students and scholars to explore the processes through which archeological sites and historic urbanscapes were visualized, managed, and transformed in colonial and post-colonial South Asia (ca. 1800-present). The project aims to generate a new digital approach to archaeology, art history, and urban studies using geospatial systems. The project has also created an open-access digital image archive in close collaboration with faculty and museum collections at the University of California, Berkeley.
